Robinson Street Underpass

The Robinson Street Underpass Project From 500 feet west of Flood Avenue to 500 feet east of Stubbeman Avenue is a $26 million street improvement project approved by the Norman voters as part of the 2005 Bond Election. Construction will begin Monday, June 14, 2010. The Oklahoma Department of Transportation is responsible for the construction of the project and the prime contractor is Manhattan Road and Bridge Construction Company of Oklahoma City.

Consumer Confidence Report

Soon, every water utility customer in the City of Norman will be receiving their copy of the Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) in the mail. The City of Norman Water Utilities Department recently completed the tables, charts and information contained in the 2009 CCR. This annual report mailed to each customer is mandated by the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Public Forum Series on Sustainable Water Resources for our Future

The City of Norman will be hosting a Public Forum Series on sustainable water resources for our future. In 2001, the Norman Utilities Authority completed a Strategic Water Supply Plan which estimated the annual average and peak day water demands for the City of Norman service area through the year 2040.

Census Day is April 1, 2010. Households will receive a census form in March 2010, either by mail or in person from a census worker. I-35 Aesthetics Design

A public meeting was held on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 5:30 p.m. in the Council chambers to present information and gather input regarding the proposed aesthetic designs for seven new or retrofitted bridges which cross Interstate 35 through Norman as well as the SH-9W bridge south of Norman. This is a joint project between the City of Norman and the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.

NORMAN PUBLIC ARTS

The Norman Public Arts Board is working to enhance Norman’s image locally, regionally and nationally by insuring the creation of the highest quality art for display in public places. The Board believes that public art has the possibility of defining a community, enriching cultural diversity, stimulating economic activity, and encouraging all forms of artistic endeavors.
